Has anyone tried to change suicide chess in losers chess? See FICS server for the rules. The checkmate rule (you win if own king is mated) gives me problems. |

Yes, I tried this but got very weird errors running the program. Have you tried this condition? /Gert |

No, I haven't. But in the Zillions standard games there is a "losing chess" variant. However, there you must lose all your pieces or be stalemated. The king is not royal and may be captured. Maybe you don't need 'checkmated king'. It's enough with 'captured king'. After all, it's the same thing, only one move later. /Mats |

Here is discussion of Must Capture Chess, which sounds similar to Losers chess: http://www.chessvariants.org/other.dir/modest-various.html#mustcapturechess Here is the ZRF file for Must Capture Chess. This plays fairly close to the FICS rules for Losers: http://www.chessvariants.org/programs.dir/zillions/must-capture-chess.zrf |
