This is a belated comment about the rules file for Whale Shogi by Karl Scherer & Douglas Silfen, which was created almost ten years ago now. When playing against Zillions, I find that suddenly, half-way through the game, the Zillions side becomes invulnerable. It becomes impossible for me to capture any piece or to give check. The White Whale (King-piece) is able to single-handedly chase my White Whale to the edge of the board and deliver checkmate unassisted! I have not seen this with any other Zillions game. Quite apart from wanting this fixed, I would be interested to know how and why this could be. |

This question should really be looked at by Karl Scherer or Doug Silfen, as they wrote the zrf. I haven't had the time to look into this myself, but of course there is no reason why you can't do so. |
