The current implementation of Hexagonal Chess by Wladyslaw Glinsky contains an error. The move Pawn d5 x e6 that appears in the included saved game should be illegal, since it does not obey the rule for a capture move by a pawn. According to the rule, in a capture move the pawn should stay on cells of the board of the same colour. |

I believe you're mistaken; are you sure you're not thinking of Dave McCooney's Hexagonal Chess? The Chess Variants page for Glinsky's version says, "Unlike Orthodox Chess, the HC Pawn has no diagonal moves - only orthogonal moves - although two are at an angle. The Pawn can move passively straight forward, or move to capture 60° to the right or left of straight forward." http://www.chessvariants.com/hexagonal.dir/hexagonal.html So a pawn capture is not "diagonally" to a cell of the same color in Glinsky's. |

I had intended to imply that the rules being considered where those in the implementation of the ZOG2 game named 'Hexagonal Chess by Wladyslaw Glinski' where under the 'Pawn Properties' menu item it states "A Pawn moves straight ahead one hex and captures forwards through the corners (on a hex of the same colour) " |
