Hello Mark14 and Nagy Laszlo, Terrific job on "Quarto"! I've been playing the actual wooden board game by Family Games/Gigamic for quite a few years, and the shareware program by James Bryant for over a year, and have been patiently waiting for a "Zillions" version. Definitely worth the wait: you've really created a fine program. You have a typo in the Quarto.zrf: it says "Island Chess" instead of "Quarto". Comment: The rules that come with the actual "Quarto" wooden board game are slightly different than the rules you indicate. The first move should be from the "reserve" to the "move now" square, not from the "reserve" to the board. This minor change does not really impact the final outcome of the game, but I thought I'd point it out. By simply deleting the following two lines in the .zrf, the game would play identically to the original rules: (Player1 Neutral firstmove) repeat Thank you for the great job you've done with "Quarto". Regards, Marty |

Yes, I agree -- Good job, good game! Additional variant request: Same attribute in all four corners of the board equals "Quarto!" (This makes draws less likely.) |
