You want to implement a free version that can create new and read or modify existing ZRF files? Why should the authors of ZoG or creators of any other proprietary product who had any expections for a return on their hard work agree to, or cooperate with, anything like that? Unless perhaps they were just giving it away for free anyway? But last time I looked ZoG wasn't free -- I paid good money for mine, and happily so! But you are asking for free. Besides, if you and anyone you can recruit into your project can come up with an engine that *can* actually compete, why wouldn't you come up with your own language and file format as a by-product of the design process? |
