I have a chess variant that I made (yea, another 3d one...BUT IT'S GOOD!). And Zillions used to play it well at first...but now it's terrible. It makes stupid opening moves and is checkmated in no time. I have the computer set to expert and it has 20 sec per move of 'thought' (450Mhz) which should make a challenging game...but no.

In my investigations I found that 'Z' is assigning point values to the pieces (under [right-click] piece-properties) of 0! In every game I play it treats, from pawn to king, from 1st level to 4th...all squares 0 value.

So, consequently, it looses every time.

I've printed many of the variants codes out searching form something I might have missed. (This game is not that complicated, so I don't think there is some sort of 'data overflow')
but time and time again it assigns no value to any move or square or piece.
[it is almost as frustrating as trying to teach my little sister how to play chess...it doesn't even try...or even humor me!!]

'Z' plays strong on every other game I try, just not this one.

ANY IDEAS??

Hi. There's currently no method for you to change the values that Zillions assigns to pieces. Something must be odd about your game that makes it different from games like standard chess. I have little idea what that would be, but if you want to email your game to Zillions Development we can take a look. Please include all files as well as anything you suspect is unusual about your game.
