Suppose you want create or capture a piece on a peripheral square and then make an add at the actual position, like this: to (capture X1) (add checker)

A these occasions Zillions hangs and nothing happens. But if you insert two flips (or as many as it takes to come back to the same player) then it suddenly starts to function: to (capture X1) flip flip (add checker)

I have used this trick several times, and I had to use it in two games that will be published this weekend, Pyrrhus Chess and Gorgona Chess.
