Some time back, I thought up a Chess variant involving stacks. I tried to zogram it to the poor extent of my ZoG scripting knowledge, and came up with an unstable zrf: ZoG plays by the rule book some of the time, but more often than not curious side-effects appear. Pieces deemed capturable are not recognized as such until some later turn, ZoG asks for moves it should not even consider, or presents me with a long list consisting of the one same move, or responds with other maddening annoyances (such as Black Knights acquiring new, strange moving abilities, or Black pieces generally behaving in a fashion different from that of White ones, despite the zrf nowhere testing for the color of the current player, etc.). My present zrf is a real shambles. I am tired of fixing some things up just to see new glitches appear, so here are my graphics and rules exposition for you to consider (in the unlikely event somebody besides me still peeks at this forum at times. Needless to say, you do not have to ever refer to me in case you succeed in piecing togheter, out of this, a playable zrf you'd like to publish). The rules, as I state them, may seem confusing. Not so. Just try them beforehand on a chessboard with some flat tokens. Attachment.
