The goal "repetition" is True if a position is exactly a third time with the same player.

Example:
In partial move, piece starts from position B4. How to prevent a piece to get back to A4 after a few partial moves?

I used a off-board position with SnakesandLadders. I used a few different pieces, changing per turn. It wasn't designed for the entire game, it was only meant for when players approached the final square.

I made typo in the example, here is the proper one:

For example:
In partial move, piece starts from position A4. How to prevent a piece to get back to A4 after several partial moves?

I see it in the game Halma, that a piece sometime returns/ jumps back to the position from which it starts its first jump.
