I am working on a chess game with a number of variants. In one variant, whenever a draw situation comes up, I want a dummy player to capture one (non-King) piece from either side and then for the game to continue. Zillions by default automatically declares a draw when stalemate or repetition occurs.

It is easy enough to deal with the stalemate draw condition by means of move-priorities. But how would I implement it in the case of draw by repetition?

There is a way to avoid Zillions recognising a repetition, but that is not what I want. I want Zillions to recognise repetition and instead of stopping the game, to execute this special capturing move in the hope it will break the deadlock and allow play to continue.

Is this at all possible?

The 3-times repetition detection is built into the ZoG engine and no access of this function to the script is provided. Therefore, unfortunately, I see no way of working around this limitation.
