Hello ZOG friends, I'm implementing a board war game, remotely related to Stratego, and need your help. The game uses a pair of dice. On his turn, the player tosses the dice, and the combined results of the dice creates a sort of "move bank". He can move any of his (many) pieces by one or more squares as long as: - the "move bank" isn't exhausted, - the piece didn't move more then some limit (related to it's type) in that turn. So what I need is a way to "count" the moves made by each piece during this turn, limiting it, and the total moves in the turn, limiting it to the dice result. It would be also very nice to have a "count down" visible indicator/slider to show the number of remaining moves for this turn. This, of course, may also be the implementation of the counter. What do you think? Any idea on how to implement this? Better yet, any similar working code? Many thanks, Arie |

For counting and storing the combined dice result number n simply create n pieces on a series of 12 (= 6+6) board positions (linked by a direction, say x). Count them down by eliminating (capturing) them. I have used counters in several of my games, see for example some of my Cat&Mouse games. |
