Is it possible to create a ZRF for a chess variant played on a 12x12 board? (I noticed text under limitations that 100 was "move-direction" limit and also noticed in zillions images a 10x10 board.) Thank you, RN1 |

Definitely. The line you reference: "Maximum number of game-defined directions: 100 (64 prior to v2.0)" is talking about the number of directions you can define. For instance, standard chess as the 8 cardinal directions of n,s,e,w,nw,sw,ne, and se, 8 directions, well shy of 100. |

A 12x12 board variant is possible. The move direction limit does not refer to the number of spaces on the board. It refers to directions of travel like North, East, South, etc. So chess on a 10x10 or 12x12 has 8 directions. Zillions comes with a 12x12 checkerboard graphic. Chu Shogi uses a 12x12 board. |

Simply create a 12x12 bitmap board of your own, and alter the (grid) section appropriately. Be sure to expand the (dimensions) block to have 12x12, and make sure that the start rectangle and rectangle size values are correct. |
