I am in the process of updating a game file with additional graphics. Most of them work fine; with one board i am getting the error

the following bitmap couldn't be loaded: "grey10x10.bmp"

I checked and the file name is correct. what could be causing the problem?

It's hard to say with this amount of info. Is the file in the expected location? Is the file verified free of corruption? Those would be the two most obvious issues, of course.

Yes, those are the two things. If you're not specifying grey10x10.bmp with a path name in the ZRF, try putting it in the same folder as the ZRF and see if it loads.

When it's not a missing subfolder location error...

I've gotten this 'board image' load error almost routinely (never from games at this site).
I usually load and RE-SAVE the board image (via Paint Shop Pr0 vers3.12) - unknown problem solved!

Saving [re-Saving] as 24-bit Bitmap image usually solves "the following bitmap couldn't be loaded" error problem!

Cheers
