Hello! Does anybody know, how i could allow only ONE 'pass' (=make no move) in each game for each player ?
maybe with a flag, but how can the flag then change the pass-turn - option ?

Well, there's always the option of modelling the pass as a piece. Use it once and it disappears, making no more passes.

Thanks for your answer!
I understand, what you mean. But where could i place this extra-piece? maybe on an extra-board, is this possible..?
i need this feature for a chess-variant, so i'm not sure, how this would influence the game.
and unfortunately i've no experience with extra-boards and extra-pieces.

Basically, you define an extra square that's not part of the grid for the chessboard. It will require adding a little bit of extra graphics for the board so that there is space for an extra square. Unfortunately, this is not my usual computer for Zillions development, so I don't have LangDef onhand to give you the exact sequence. Take a look at the existing ZRF files and look for one that has the grid statement and also adds another square. I can't name one off of the top of my head, unfortunately.

It's enough if a little part of the margin is differently coloured, and then you press on that part to pass. I do this in my 4-handed Chaturanga, and Scherer does this (to turn off theory) in his Chess with Openings (I think he uses the technique of removing a piece)

Thx for the hint. I'll see, if i can understand something in the mentioned chess variants.
