At the moment the Zillions language does not have a command to ask for the owner of a piece. If there are just two players like in chess, one can ask for "friend?" or "enemy?", but if there are 3 or more players (for example in a chess version with an additional dummy-player name "?Rand" which randomizes certain aspects of the game) there is no way of determining who the owner of a given piece is. A very cumbersome workaround is the following, explained in the example of chess variations: to create different pieces for Black and White and to give the black piece the piece-attribute "black", the white pieces the piece-attribute "white". I therefor suggest to introduce the new command "owner?" to be used in contexts like: (if (owner? Black) ...) and (if (owner? Black e4) ...). |

(set-owner n player1) sets the owner of piece in n to by player1. This would be non related to the current player unlike the flip and change-owner commands. (set-piece n player1 piece1) This would create or replace piece on that position to be player1's piece1. This would take away the need to fill the board with "emty" pseudo pieces that can then be changed for owner and type. |

>(set-piece n player1 piece1) >This would create or replace piece on that >position to be player1's piece1. Yes, I've programmed this already and it will appear in the next version of Zillions. |
