PBeM? be more specific. Actualy I believe it is possible to use Zillions-of-Games to Play By eMail. You just need to save the game and send the file to your friend. He will open it, play, save and send it back to you. What do you really want? David GLAUDE |

Hello, David. That you say is right but not comfortably. I want the program to automatically save the game after my move and do not allow me to move other player's pieces (as it does for computer player) if the pbem option is set for this game. |

Could you be more constructive in what you want? What feature should be added? Should we be able to "send" a game from ZOG or attaching a file or cut and pasting a file is ok? Do you want to read your mail from ZOG? Is it only about denying yourself to play for your opponent? Is it OK to automaticaly make the forced move? Should we save and send the last position or the list of move since the beginning of the game? Rather than to "support" PBeM, ZOG could be more PBeM friendly, but how? I am personnaly using Richard's PBeM server to play Zertz (a very nice abstract game) and I have been developping game module for Richard's server. (see http://glu.freeservers.com/pbem.htm). I know one way ZOG could be more PBeM friendly, it is by accepting less strict input for reading saved game. For instance, assuming you use Zillions only, then when you receave and e-mail and save it to file in plain text (not your game as an attachement), you may have a lot of text that Zillions don't understant. Like FROM: TO: ... If only Zillions would only read whatever is between the and tag then it would be eassy to add/generate/use those tag to exchange games without having to worry about all the external "noise" from e-mail system. I could for some game I like and use, generate a Zillions compatible output for the Richard's PBeM server and that way the owner of a copy of Zillions would be able to use it to read the game, review the game and choose the move he want to play. Using the DLL interface of Zillions-of-Games, it might be possible to do an external recording of the last move you play and use that as an input for sending and e-mail to Richard's Server. So the only wish I have for new feature is a to be very open in the format Zillions use for reading saved game (while keeping compatibility with existing save format)? David GLAUDE Anybody else with PBeM related feature wish? |

Oh, I do not want so much! I just want automatical save game and show ("animate") me last opponent's move. I didn't think about automatical making forced moves, but it's very good idea! I don't want ZOG to deal with my mail, I want it to save and load files only, other I'll do myself. |
