Dear Development Team,
Often saved games do not run anymore after changes, for example after changing the sequence of options in a selection screen.
Currently the engine runs the zsg as far as possible, then comes up with an error.
Another example is when I change the title of a variant.
Zillions tries to load the game with the default
variant, but firstly this might not work at all
and secondly, if it works, then
I still cannot run the zsg in the proper variant
where it belongs and then again store it from there.
Thirdly I sometimes would like to use a stored
game (chess opening) or move sequence
in another compatible chess variant (
another zrf rules file).
For these cases and many similar cases it would
be extremely useful to have the following new
option in the FILE menu:
"Open game with current zrf."
This option will make working with zsg files
much more flexible.
