Invisible players of type ?xxxx (called "Random Players" in the Zillions help file) often execute very useful tasks, but not necessarily in the form of an opponent, but rather like subroutines etc. In these cases it is often not desirable and/or pleasant for the ear to have the move-sounds, drop-sounds etc active for these activities. Furthermore these sound slow the system down, so that avoiding these sound would speed up the game in many cases. Hence I suggest to have a command to the effect that ALL sounds are being switched off for the ?xxxx players. Maybe at game level: (?-sound false) |

Zillions of Games 2.0 adds this as an option for your game, i.e. you can do: (option "silent ? moves" true) |
