A suggestion: As currently set up, the discussion boards put the oldest messages at the top. As the message boards get bigger over time, it will become increasingly more useful to have the more recent messages at the top, so you don't have to wade through n years worth of messages to get to the latest ones.

Also, it would perhaps be simple to include the year of the posting in the discussion tree menus, not just the month and date.

I fully support this.

Is it that inconvient? There are enough topics and subtopics that I find the message pages don't usually go down too far. Here's what the message board experts (Discus) say about this option:

"We have observed only a very few instances where reversing message order is desirable. Adding prayer requests to a list was one such instance. However, this is not a good choice for conversational flow, since your users will not find it intuitive to start reading at the bottom, scroll up to read a discussion, and then scroll all the way back down to the bottom to post their message. Thus, we discourage reversing message order unless you really know what you're doing."

I have to agree with them; this seems the most intuitive way. (...and I have a design philosophy that says intuitiveness trumps the convenience of power-users, but that's another topic...)

But if it turns out most people want the message order reversed, I'll do it for you.

Actually, I LIKE the old at top, new at bottom style - "conversational flow" - Don't change it!

CTRL+END quickly gets you to the bottom of any long lists!

What I would like to see is for the topics to be listed in reverse chronological order of creation. The most recently created topics tend to get the most activity.

The contents of each topic remained in chronological order to assist in tracking the conversational flow.
