Zillions 2.0 is now compatible with MSN Messenger. That's great, but where are users going to get the MSN handles of other users? I just downloaded Messenger, and I had to get a new email address in order to become visible to other Messnger users.

I suggest we use this thread to post our MSN handles, or whatever other means of identification we want to include, so players can get in touch with each other.

My MSN Messenger handle is twixtplayer@hotmail.com
My AIM handle is hextwixt
My ICQ handle is 91521647
On IRC DALnet, I am twixter and when I'm there,
I go to the #ZoG channel.

I am available most evenings during the week,
and most of the time on weekends. My time zone
is East Coast US (EST).

My main email is twixt@cstone.net

Thanks!
David

I am new to internet play,
but add me to your MSN list.
My MSN handle is karlscherer3@hotmail.com.

I am still finding out how this works...
Maybe someone can give a proper description of what to do. I have not seen such a description on the discussion board.

What I have done up to now is:
1. Downloaded the free Microsoft Messanger
Network software (MSN) from where? - I have
already forgotten.
2. I could not sign on, but the sign-on screen
offered to create a NETPASS, which I did.
2. I signed on and added the .hotmail
email addresses given in the other postings;
they are called "contacts" in MSN

.............
When I tried DALNet, I could not get it to work.
Maybe someone can explain what to do there
and how the whoile thing works, please.

...............
I have played a lot of Scrabble lately
(using first the NETWORDZ, later the WORDBIZ software, if someone is interested).
Is there something similar for Zillions?
If not, why not?

In the discussion board I get a few bits of Information on these questions here and there
(some of it in geektalk, difficult for beginners).
Can someone please clearly and in normal English state what the situation is here?

Thanks, and peaceful Xmas 2002!

DALnet is basically a huge chat "house" which runs IRC, Internet Relay Chat. There are many other IRC "houses," but DALnet is one of the biggest.

Here is a link for info about IRC:
http://www.mirc.com/ircintro.html
This website is also the home site for mIRC, which is software that can get you on the IRC network. It's free for 30 days.

Here is a link for info about DALnet:
http://www.dal.net/index.php3

For all the effort required to learn about IRC and DALnet, there's not much reward as far as Zillions is concerned; The #ZoG channel is dead, dead, dead. But if you're interested in new ways to chat, maybe you would like it. Generally I would say that the world of IRC is geekier and not as user-friendly as the more popular chat forums such as AIM, ICQ, and MSN Messenger. But DALnet has thousands of chat channels, or "rooms," on many different topics. Most of them are people looking to send or receive files. But some people just want to talk.

Are NETWORDZ and WORDBIZ servers for Scrabble? Scrabble is immensely popular. Zillions is not. Servers cost money.

Hi Everyone,

I opened a MSN Messenger account to try Zillions online. I too am interested in trying good new games that are not available elsewhere.

My MSN Messenger handle is lhh61
I don't have hotmail
My sign in is - leshazlett@passport.com
My email is - lesjanehazlett@email.com

I may not be able to play at the time you find me on MSN Messenger but we can schedule something of common interest.

Hi Everyone!

The Chess Variant Club now has a game ranking system for ZOG games. Please let me know if their are any games you would like to see in the list. this will be a great way to keep stats on players and results. Now we have made the games, let's see how well we can play them!

Hi everyone,

I also openned a messanger account to try zillions of games online. So far I have played a few games of "groups" . I also joined the Chess variant club.
My MSN handle is
djomilne@hotmail.com

I am teaching English in Korea at the moment. This may cause some time zone inconveniences when arranging playing times on the net.

I like all kinds of board games. My favourite chess variant is Big Battle. I can beat the students at school when I play Changgi (Korean Chess) and Baduk (Go)

Regards David Milne
