pieces-remaining goal is only useful when the
number of my own pieces is critical.
If a player wins when his opponent's pieces are reduced to a certain number, the pieces-remaining
command cannot be used.

I sorely missed the other half of this command a few times. There is no easy other way to express this goal, either.
Why not allow to have the owner of the pieces
mentioned?

Would be nice to see this feature (as so many others) in the next update, which is hopefully soon!

Cheers, Karl

Something similar to the problem indicated above has also been of some concern to me.
On looking on the ZOG site and the chess variants site for multi-player games which use a single board and independent players, I found few. This was unexpected and so I am not surprised that the facilities needed to simply implement such games in ZOG2 are not be readily available. The need to be able to identify the owner of any piece on the board is a case in point. A player who has a critical piece in a compromising position might be regarded as being in a condition where the pieces of that player's army might be removed so that the other players may then proceed to the end of the game without the board being cluttered with the pieces of a defunct player. This would be simplest implemented by identifying the particular pieces on the board and removing them. This should hopefully be achievable without requiring the programer to use code which initially adds identifying data to all of the pieces of all the players.
