I'd like to see a link from the Zillions home page (or user's corner) to a list of books about games. I've collected dozens of books about ancient and modern games around the world, including several classics by Sid Sackson and Robert Abbott, several "coffee-table" books, and several "fairy" chess books. At a minimum, each book listing should give the title and author/editor. When possible, it should also have publisher, date, description, and one or more reviews. You could even include links to Amazon.com for ordering available books, and get some income from anyone who buys that way! If Zillions is willing to host such a page, solicit contributions from others, and organize whatever gets submitted, I'd be happy to post the details of my library. |

Hi Patrick. There is already a section for this off of the User's Corner called "Suggested Reading". The exact location is http://www.zillionsofgames.com/biblio.html and it details a few different types of games along with references for each type and a few particularly useful websites. Since Amazon already has reviews along with each book (if any have been posted), it's unlikely Zillions will start to host them - but we're quite willing to improve the resources if folks are willing to make suggestions. If you or anyone else have recommendations, you're welcome to send them to me(jodi@zillionsofgames.com). All I really need is the title of the book and the author (the ISBN number would be extremely useful if you have it too, but I realize that may not always be possible) and I can certainly add more resources to what's already online. If you want to send me links to particularly helpful web pages, I could add those too - but just to warn everyone, not all resources will be listed. I'm going to be really picky about that. Thanks for your offer of help! All the best, --Jodi |
