Right now the moves list looks something like:

1. Piece B1-C4
1... Piece B2-C5
2. Piece C1xD4
2... Piece C2xD5

I'd like a new menu option to change it to multi-column mode (using one column per player), e.g.:

Red: __________ Blue:
1 Piece B1-C4 _ 2 Piece B2-C5
3 Piece C1xD4 _ 4 Piece C2xD5

Note that I've added the players' names at the top, changed the numbering to plys, not turns, and dropped the periods (to save width). {Ignore the "_" characters -- this discussion board won't display multiple spaces properly. I had to use them to get everything to line up properly. Sigh.}

In games with a single piece, using the command "(notation none)" would drop the "Piece " string from each move.

Occasional moves which are too wide would use multiple lines to keep the columns lined-up.

Wouldn't this get a little wide in your 9-player "Go-Moku 9" game? :-)

That was one consideration in the design. Another was that moves in the generic Zillions format are much wider than in a game-specific format like PGN. With one column you can always scroll to see the entire move. It's not clear how you would see the entirety of any move with multiple columns.

A third consideration was that the move order is much more flexible than this. For example, the ZRF may specify the turn-order as Red, Blue, Red, Green, Green, Red, Green, Blue, followed by a repeating pattern of Red Green Red Blue Blue.
