The font used to display board labels is hard to read (for example, try telling the difference between f5 and f6 in the default Chess variant).

Putting a space between the dimensions, such as changing "f5" to "f 5" would improve readability, but even better would be changing the font to something one or two points larger.

This is improved in Zillions of Games 2. Version 2 has lots of smarts to try to determine a good font size for the labels.

Sadly, when the board positions (which are always defined as rectangles) are too small,
Zillions V2.0 does NOT DISPLAY THEM AT ALL.
(see for example Tetrasticks game).
This is not very helpful.

A small dot or similar would be nice to have to get an idea where positions are.
This would help authors to check whether
the (normally invisible) positions are where they should be.
