I fixed two small bugs in Halatafl. The update to Asalto is important, however. I added classical Asalto which utilizes a kind of board pattern which is found on Asalto boards from the 18th century. This is true Asalto. I now doubt that my original version of Asalto actually has a historical predecessor. However, I preserved this variant because it is so good. It is nifty and well-balanced, as is classical Asalto. Notice that these Asalto variants are different from both Fortress by Karl Scherer and Contra by K. Franklin. By the way, I have now verified that my latest program Fox Classic is the classic version of Fox and Geese. This is so according to HJR Murray: 'A History of Board-games', 1952. I doubt if the version of Fox and Geese on the Zillions CD is authentic (but it might be a good game, anyway). Mats |

Hi Mats W. (Kalroten): A list of comments for new updates and versions are already under "Comments On Existing Games / Versions and Updates". I strongly suggest that we all use this place, because it is easier for others to find these comments if they are all in one place. Thanks a lot, Karl :-) |
