Be-Jay Are the jumpers really meant to capture by exchange? They can capture an enemy piece two squares away by exchange, but in the rules description only capture on the intermediate square, by jumping, is mentioned. This type of game always attracts my attention. In the field of checkers variants and chess variants it is still possible to make new inventions. Not the least I myself have proven that. Mats |

Corrected with next version (V1.1). Jumpers capture by jumping. |

Karl, please also allow Jumpers and Bumbers to promote on the last row. Checkers enthusiasts will hardly accept that they are just left standing there, stalemated. Perhaps they could be promoted to King Bumpers that can also bump backwards? Alternatively, in order to make sense of the stalemated pieces on the last rank, let win-condition be, say, four Jumpers/Bumbers that have reached the last rank. This is reminiscent of Platonic Halma. Mats |
